Where these numbers come from

Every figure on this page counts the entire game: all 10,625,160 registered Fantasy Premier League teams. It is not a sample of ten thousand managers and it is not an estimate. FPL publishes these counts in its own data feed after each gameweek is checked, and then shows them on no screen of its own.

That is what makes chip numbers worth looking at. Ownership tells you what people bought; chip usage tells you what people committed, and a chip can only be spent once. A Triple Captain week with two million plays means two million managers have one fewer card for the rest of the season, and that is what makes a differential in Gameweek 30 possible.

What we cannot tell you

How many managers still hold each chip. FPL publishes what was played, not what is left, and the two are not the same number: teams that were registered but never played, and the two Wildcards a season gets, both distort it. We would rather say so than publish a figure we have made up. The transfers column is FPL's own count of every transfer made in the game that week, hits included.

Live ownership for every player is on the map, and your mini-league shows which chips your own rivals have active right now.
