Players under 300 minutes are left out: with a handful of minutes the per-start figure is noise.
Bonus is the last three points of every match: the top three players by BPS — FPL's own match score — get 3, 2 and 1. It is decided by the game, not by a pundit, and it is the difference between a 6-point haul and a 9-point one.
BPS adds up goals, assists, clean sheets, saves, completed passes, tackles, recoveries and big chances created, and subtracts cards, penalties missed, big chances missed and errors leading to a goal. A striker who scores and does nothing else can finish below a defender who keeps a clean sheet and wins every duel.
The column that answers the real question is per start, not the total. A player on 3 bonus in 5 starts collects something most weeks; one on the same 3 from 20 minutes here and there does not. Anyone under 300 minutes is left out for that reason.
During a gameweek the provisional bonus is already counted where it changes your position: your live rank and your mini-league table both apply it before FPL confirms it.

- How are FPL bonus points decided?
- The three players with the highest Bonus Points System (BPS) score in a match get 3, 2 and 1 extra points. BPS is FPL's own match score built from goals, assists, clean sheets, saves, passes completed, tackles, recoveries, big chances created and negative events like cards, misses and errors. A tie at the top shares the points: two players level on first get 3 each and the next gets 1.
- What is a good BPS in FPL?
- BPS only matters relative to the other 21 players on the pitch that day, so there is no fixed target: a defender on a clean sheet with a goal usually lands in the high 30s and wins the 3, while a busy midfielder in a 3-3 can score more BPS and take nothing if three forwards score. That is why this page shows bonus per start next to the total.
